Prism Bitch was formed when New Mexico natives Lauren Poole and Chris Walsh dreamed up a plan for a performance art project in the guise of a band for their theatre troupe, Blackout. Lauren had a costume design and performance background but barely any musical experience and Chris Walsh had a film background with tons of musical experience. In the summer of 2015 they got the project on its feet when new friend, Lilah Rose (at that point newly arrived in Albuquerque with a great body of work as a solo musician) agreed to join the band. They just needed a drummer… As fate would have it, Chris and Lauren crossed paths with Teresa Esguerra (who had played in bands most of her life but recently sworn herself to a life of playing for pleasure and not with bands anwhen she was filling in for another drummer at a gig. With their members assembled they played a few punk rock open mics in the fall of 2015 to get a feel for what kind of material they would write for this, Theatre Performance in the guise of a band. By 2016 they had enough material for a 40 minute set, gained a local following, recorded their first EP The Getaway with local engineer Lee Sillery, gone on their first multi-state tour (AZ, CA, NM, and TX), and filmed the first of what would become many awesome music videos.

Late in 2016 they realized that their initial theatrical project idea had morphed into an actual band, which they named Prism Bitch, and they added guitarist and sound engineer Nelson Crane to the lineup. By the end of 2017 they had played a show at the iconic Whiskey A Go-Go and recorded their 2nd EP, PRISM BITCH with producer and engineer Toshi Kawaii, marking the beginning of years of collaboration with Kasaii.

In 2018 they performed at the Treefort Music Festival in Boise ID for the first time where they met Built to Spill and Treepeople front-man Dug Martsch, who they began touring with later that year.

In 2019 they recorded their first full-length album, Perla with Kasaii again in LA and began touring more than ever, playing SXSW for the first time and and ending the year with a 30 day Canada-East Coast USA tour supporting Built to Spill.

In 2020 like all other bands PB had to put all their momentum on ice and hold out on touring and the release of Perla till 2021, when they came back out on the road with the new album, again touring at length with Built to Spill- with whom they now shared a drummer since March had added Teresa to his new lineup. 2020 also saw the departure of Nelson Crane from the PB lineup.

Between 2022 and 2025 Prism Bitch toured extensively around the US and released the singles, Problem Child, Woman, Fear, and City Nights- all recorded with Kasaii. Late 2025 saw the departure of founding member Lilah Rose. That fall Chris, Teresa and Lauren began writing new material that they travelled to Raton, NM to demo before an extensive west coast tour in the spring of 2026.

Prism Bitch is currently finishing up writing another full-length album, with a planned 2027 release.
